Prayer is powerful. At this current time in world history, this is vital to understand. Prayer is not just a way to give our “Wish List” to God. It is a way of coming to God with our worries, tears, and also our thanks. People need to learn that the act of praying is how we can have personal conversations with God. As the ultimate Father, God is ready and willing to show His love; even if it is not always in the way that we ask for.
In my experience, God always answers prayers. This does not mean that His children live pain-free, sorrow-free lives. Nevertheless, all those who are willing can rest assured that He is always listening. When my father was sick, I prayed for God to save him. As a young child, I thought that my prayers were answered as dad went into remission and came home. He was even present to celebrate my tenth birthday. I was confused and angry when he eventually went back to the hospital and died. However, years later, I learned the dad had talked to a pastor and given his life to Christ before he died. Therefore, I knew that God had heard my prayers and answered both in the best possible way.
God is always listening. As previously mentioned, I suffer from anxiety issues. While I can usually hide my stress during the day, those thoughts can get overwhelming at night. On one such night, my thoughts of self-doubt were loud enough that I wanted to scream. Instead, I fell to my knees, and talked to God about my problems. I promise that it is no exaggeration that as soon as I got off of my knees, I felt completely relaxed and ready for bed. In times of utter confusion, we all must accept that we can not carry our burdens alone.
Prayers are conversations with God. He is always willing to listen and deliver the perfect solution. All that He asks of us that we are willing to accept His answers
