School has been a challenge for me ever since I can remember. Because of brain damage, I have a slight learning disability in math. On top of that, surgeries made it necessary for me to repeat the first and twelfth grades. However, that only motivated me to work harder than my other classmates. In the end, my perseverance paid over. I not only made the honor roll during my time in school, but also graduated from college with a Bachelor’s degree in early elementary education. But even though I have been out of school for about twenty-six years, that doesn’t mean that my education is necessarily over.

I firmly believe that everyone should consider themselves ” life-long learners”. I know that I certainly do. To the end, I am constantly being research online, in order to make myself into a better writer. I thrive to learn more about ancient cultures, as well as basic writing techniques, like writing character arcs. On top of this, I feel the need to look into taking college courses in psychology and creative writing. In my opinion, these courses will not only enrich my knowledge base, but also help me to have a stronger understanding of how to create more relatable characters, even when I am reading in the fantasy genre. Yet all people have a certain amount of physical and/or mental challenges, no one should have their limitations defined by others.

A person’s challenges should never define their potential. Over the years, I have learned that every one has the capacity to achieve their dreams; some just have to work harder than others. God create every single person with a purpose. The greatest and most exciting challenge in life is the journey towards learning what that purpose is. May God bless all of my readers.
