My health has never been great. As mentioned in previous posts, I have hydrocephalus, which is essentially excess water on the brain. Because of this, I had shunts implanted in my brain, as a child. Many of this shunts have long-since been removed. According to a recent visit with my neurosurgeon, the remaining shunts are extremely old and fragile. This has lead to increased headaches and nausea, as well as the inability to sleep horizontally. Honestly, the whole situation has me pretty scared, especially because it potentially means another surgery.
However, I’m learning to view this situation as just another trial that God is used to strengthen my faith. In order to control my anxiety, I constantly remind myself of all that He was already brought me through safely. I was an extremely small preemie, had numerous childhood injuries, over 30 childhood surgeries, a childhood stroke, and was diagnosed with migraines as a teen. Despite all of this, God has kept me alive for a reason, even though I do not know that reason yet. Nevertheless, I will continue living for Him, and telling my story for this long as He will let me. May God bless all of my readers!
